Weekly Willy Update (WWU) May 30, 2008
Welcome back everyone to the 2nd edition of the Weekly Willy Update. I hope you all had a fun and productive Memorial Day weekend, weather you were getting sun burnt or going out and buying a new HDTV. I know I enjoyed that one extra day off. I want to first start off by sharing with you something that I found to be humorous. Tuesday night I was checking my grades and GPA on my college website and I came across this…
*** “CEU is NOT Official” *** (I guess no one wants us to be Official)
I really laughed for a good five minutes after seeing this! If you don’t know by now… our clan abbreviation is CEU. I like the fact that “NOT” is in all caps. Perhaps CE United is NOT official until we have our first clan match.
The Triumphant return
Speaking of clan matches or challenges, or whatever the kids are calling it these days, CE United has an opponent for our Clan-tastic Royale Friday, June 6th, 2008. It is a clan that goes by the name "8-Bit Brigade”. http://www.8bitbrigade.com/ We are still in talks with them to finalize the exact game types and time, but the clans have set a date. You can expect to see a full write up shortly after the Clan-tastic Royale comes to an epic conclusion. So be sure to check back next week for the juicy details.
Default Master Chief
Stand-Off brings out the best in all of us. It just so happened that I was playing on Stand-Off when I remembered this one thing that really bothers me about Halo 3. For everything great there are still tiny cosmetic flaws that annoy me. I am talking about customizing your armor with many different colors and shapes. No matter how many flaws Halo 3 has, this is one flaw I cannot look past, literally. It is when you are playing with a customized Master Chief and all of a sudden you die there is a shell of your former Master Chief. I refer to this as “My Default Master Chief”. Every time I die and see that my Master Chief is wearing none of the cool stuff I equipped him with I always gripe and say, “Oh no I got the Default Master Chief”. It really annoys me because some of us worked harder than others to get all those cool armor pieces. I am not saying I don’t like the way Master Chief looks (he is one great video game icon) but in multiplayer you want to express yourself, hence the emblems and gamer tag. Whenever this glitch happens it takes me out of the game for a split second because I am seeing something I am not used to seeing with Master Chief in all his High Def glory.

Please Bungie try to fix this previous cosmetic glitch if you can. I’ll look past the glitch where you can see directly through the ODST Helmet’s neck to the ground when in 3rd person view. I mean why spend all that time and effort making all those cool looking armor pieces Recon (cough cough) to have this tiny glitch happen. I guess the rule applies here as well, Bungie Giveth and Bungi3 Taketh away. One can only imagine this has to happen to Bungie now and again.

This week I read something very interesting on another one of my favorite gaming series posted on www.gamespot.com. Resident Evil 5 might come out between now and March of 2009… SWEET! I hope this is true because I cannot wait for this game. Here’s the full link:

Finally I wish the Detroit Pistons the best of luck in defeating the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals. DEEEEEETROOOOOOOIT BASKETBALL!!!
