Weekly Willy Update (WWU) June 6, 2008
Welcome back to another helping of the Weekly Willy Upd4te. Summer is upon us and it’s getting unbearably hot already so I thought I would distract you from the heat with a funny picture. Below is a picture of CEU’s very own LastDesertF0X attempting some crazy summer antics so enjoy.

Heed the advice of other gamers
I really don’t have much to rant about this week so I am trying out something a little different. Instead of ranting, I am going to just speak my mind on gaming. Let’s just call it “Diet Rant” or “Rant Lite” (at the end there will be a poll question).
A lot of the times a new gaming series will come out of no where and it’s a smashing success. Then a million dollars later, a few sequels later, you have a HUGE fan base and an established gaming franchise. Most of the time no matter how big the fan base is some people just don’t play a certain gaming franchise. 99% of the time the reason why these games become so big is because of friends (ban wagon affect). It only takes one, just one friend, to invite his friends over to try out this new game he got; that is how a lot of us got into playing Halo in the first place.
I can think of 3 games in the past few months I have played that were all sequels. Actually, they were the III or IV in a series that I had not purchased in the past. When I first saw COD4 footage I knew I had to get my hands on a copy. A couple months later, it sold 10 million copies plus. http://kotaku.com/5012866/call-of-duty-4-ten-million-served. When I bought COD4 it was the first Call of Duty game I played and I am so glad I did. My brother used to play COD 1 on the PC and I made fun of him for it and called it Call to BOOTY (man was I dumb back then).
Then I bought GHIII (Guitar Hero III) back in January because I wanted to play it with S4iNT on Xbox LIVE, and that is really the only reason I bought it. GHIII was also the first game in that series I had bought. It’s still fun but I could do without it, if GHIII didn’t have online I would probably trade it in right now.
Then I bought DMC4 (Devil May Cry 4) because I saw how much fun my friend Moser was having playing DMC3 on PS2. I had never played any game in the DMC series ever, I only watched but never played. I felt I was missing out, so I decided to buy all 3 original DMC games and got caught up the storyline in the series.
All 3 of these games were all firsts for me and I am glad I bought all 3 of them. The only reason why I have yet to purchased the other COD or GH games is because the lack of a true story line. The storyline in DMC is much deeper, it’s not really worth your money unless a great story is involved (at least I think so).
Now from sequels and franchises we go to original, brand new releases. The only NEW release I have played in the past few months was a really fun game called N+ for Xbox LIVE arcade. I first heard about this game from my brother Mooretamis (who was playing this game with a weird name of N+ so one day I ask him what it is and he told me). I decide to download the trial game, and the rest is pure unadulterated FUN!!! You should really check this game out, here is a link that tells a little about it.

The links don’t do this game justice just go out and download the trial on Xbox LIVE right now. One a side note, N+ is coming out for the DS and PSP later this year (hopefully in the summer).
Another game series I am thinking about trying out for the first time is Ninja Gaiden. Ninja Gaiden II is a recommendation from H3LLxCriMsOn or II CriIVIsOn II or Crimmy or whatever you want to call him. I am pretty sure I am going to take Crimmy up on his recommendation for Ninja Gaiden II.
So in the end you should probably listen to your friends when they recommend a video game that you should play. I just wish more of my friends would listen to me when I recommend a video game because so far they have not steered me wrong.

Some upcoming changes to CE United.com you can look forward to are as follows:

I am trying to rally the members of CE United to rack their brains so we can piece together the history of CE United so you guys can figure out why exactly we came together in the first place.

Well seeing as how we are playing in the Clan-tastic Royale right now, I decided to go ahead and name CE United’s next call challenge...
The Frag-tacular Clan Match
Details are still being worked out but we hope to have the date set for this bad boy around Friday, June 20th 2008. I am in talks with a clan by the name of C1nder and 07AH.
Gaming News…
Not too much gaming news this weeks besides the fact that Ninja Gaiden II came out, and there is a LIMITED EDITION PSP bundle that comes with God of War: Chains of Olympus, Superbad and a red PSP.

I am picking this up because they finally made the PSP worth buying now. Because I love God of War and Superbad and when you put them together that is a great deal. Not to mention I look like McLovin, maybe that is why I love this movie, here is proof:
