Weekly Willy Update (WWU) June 13, 2008

Welcome back, it’s time to spoon feed you another edition of the WWU.  Or should I say KOOL-Aid SPOON?  OOOHHHHHHH YAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

CE United vs Halo 3 Junkies

Later tonight, or a little bit ago, depending on when you are reading this, CE United will be playing in our 2nd clan match against the Halo 3 Junkies (http://halo3.junk.ws/).  Shortly following the Clan-tastic Royale, the Junkies challenged us to a clan match. Thus marking the first time CE United has been called out to arms (expect a write up sometime following the event).

Get Down TK Episode VI: Return of the TK

Earlier this week, CE United got in touch with Tommy Kim (TK) a former founder of CE United. I really should say I got a hold of him by luck because my stupid cell phone erased his number from my phone without me realizing it. Anyway, we got a hold of TK and informed him that CE United is back and ready for action. We had played Halo 3 with TK a little bit during the beta period but then all of a sudden he disappeared.  Come to find out TK was still playing Halo 3 without us because he had been using 1 month accounts and made a new one again and again but failed to inform us (this is literally TKs 6th gamertag or so).  This is not the first time this has happened. Last time we lost touch with TK in a similar manner way back when Halo 2 was around. Once again by luck, we found TK in Matchmaking but not by phone.

I would like to welcome back GET DOWN YK to the clan and I hope this is a trend for things to come with former members of CE United, hopefully we can bring back a lot of the former members.  I just have one more thing to add, if you are reading this TK…. BRING IT ON TK BRING IT ON!!!

Gaming News/News...

There is not that much big gaming news this week, except a NEWER i-Phone came out this week for a lot less money then the original.  This news is really downer for a lot of people, well those who spent all that money on the original of course (this isn’t the first time this has happened). Companies always do this with new technology (that’s just how technology is).  Oh well, speaking of technology, let the r4nting begin.

Some Assembly Required

I am a little angry this week because I bought the God of War PSP bundle (which I may add is SWEET!!!) but there is just little flaw.  It’s not that it didn’t come with batteries (because it did), the problem is that I had to buy a memory card for the PSP so I could save my game progress. So Sony twisted my arm and got me to buy a 2GB memory card for the PSP (which kind of sucks).

But the main point that I am ranting about is that I am tired of getting nickel and dimed when all I want to do is play my video games with the least effort and assembly required.  A lot of the accessories should just be included or already be featured inside of the console. The best example of that is the Wireless adapter for the 360. The 360 should have been wireless out of the box. Gamers should not have to pay an extra $100.00 for a wireless adapter if he or she wants the wireless capabilities. Back to the memory issue, the Nintendo DS games have a save feature on the game card themselves and 2 DS cartridges = 1 UMD (Universal Media Disc) what gives (Yes, I know this is a media issue, flash roms v.s. discs but come on already)!?! Oh well, all that matters is I have a new God of War game and I can play it into the wii (ha ha) hours into the night.

Side Note

I really dislike it when you are playing an objective game on any Halo game and you really want to pick up the objective (flag, Bomb, skull) and you randomly pick up a weapon. Man, I really hate when that happens.  It has happened to me so many times and when it happens I always remember the last time it happened to me and it drives me insane. Bungie should really set a preference on things like that in games, like to prefer to pick up an objective over a weapon in an objective match.

Screenshots

Enjoy this week’s screenshots taken by me!

Oh ya! One more thing before I go, if you have not noticed S4iNT has changed the way our main’s navigation looks and works. He added a different button layout that has a little spinning frag grenade in the box.  I personally like it and I love running my mouse cursor over all the buttons and seeing the grenades spin all at once, it really reminds me of a loading screen.
