Weekly Willy Update (WWU) - Belated 4th of July 2008 Bash.
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July, I know I did! I got to enjoy a very long 4 ½ day weekend.
This WWU is going to be fairly long because there is so much to cover and it will contain more information then other WWUs for two reasons. One, to make up for missed WWUs and two, I am posting things not covered by the WWUs before (including post clan matches instead of pre clan matches now). This way you can find out sooner how CE United did in our matches instead of having to wait for them.

First off I want to apologize to those people who actually come here and read the WWU. I have been rather busy these past few weeks with work related events among other things I do in my spare time so I will try not to let it happen again. If I can’t find time to write up a WWU, I will post something in the forum about it. Sadly there only seems to be two people besides me who cares about the WWU and those people will remain anonymous “cough cough” anonymous sounds like Mooretamis/S4iNT oh wait that’s who they were lol.
While I was gone for those few weeks a lot of gaming news happened and there will be even more gaming news coming in a few weeks as well because E3 2008 is starting July 15-17 so I will try my best to post some of the BIG highlights in next weeks WWU.
7/7 Bungie Day 2008…
Since today is July 7, 2008 Bungie calls it Bungie Day so here we are, on Bungie Day with a new Halo 3 map to play called Cold Storage.
For those who don’t know Cold Storage is, it’s a Re-make of a Halo: CE map called Chill Out. So Bungie gave us this FREE map which is much appreciated along with a 360 Dashboard theme and FREE gamer pictures for our Gamertags. THANKS BUNGIE… I and CE United <3 U long time.
Gaming N3WS…
Aside from the new Halo 3 map, some other gaming news took place these past few weeks. Last weekend, June 28, 2008 to be exact, Blizzard announced Diablo III (http://Diablo3.com). For those who don’t know Blizzard is the gaming company who made World of Warcraft. Before they made WoW, they made a really great RPG for the PC called Diablo. It was so good that they made a second one and now we eagerly await the 3rd game in the series.
Willy’s Rant of the Week (WRotW)…
I really don’t have much to rant about this week to my own surprise, aside from the fact that I have noticed my gaming abilities have diminished in the last year or so. I have gone from a Hardcore gamer to a social or casual gamer. Recently, I just find myself busy with other things to game, or I don’t have the urge to game. I find myself preferring to relax instead of playing a video game or I will only play a video like Halo 3 or COD4 if I have people to play with from my friends list; I refuse to play by myself with online games. I have also noticed that my killing abilities have been lacking as well. I used to be an above average gamer and now I have moved down to the middle of the road or sometimes lower on the score board. My kill to death ratio has been horrible recently; I really wish I knew what was going on with me. I know it is not old age setting in, hell I am not even 21 yet and my brother was in his prime at this age. Am I setting myself up for failure before I even pick up a weapon by showing my hatred for a certain weapon like the BR or sniper rifle? Who knows maybe this is my mind telling me it is time to grow up by making me slowing starting to suck at video games. Oh well…
Clan News, Info, and Events…
First off CE United has our 3rd official clan match The Frag-tacular Clan Match Friday July 11th @ 11pm EST against a clan called C1nder (http://c1nder.net/).

Expect a write up in the July 14th-18th WWU, that week is going to be an early WWU because me and S4iNT have a wedding to go to that weekendish so we will be out of town from Wednesday and or Thursday.
On a quick side note from now on if CE United has a clan match that is a competitive 6v6 or bigger match we would like to break up into two teams of 5v5 or smaller. But if it is a recreational match we will be more then happy to do an 8v8.
As I stated above from now on or at least for awhile I am going to post the Clan challenge write ups right here in the WWUs. We are a little behind in our write ups so lets get started. Below, I bring not 1, not 2, but 3! YES 3! Clan Challenge write ups. :-o

Game 1 - Team Slayer on The Pit: Final Score 44-50 (8BB Wins)

We came out strong out of the gate with a decent lead, but 8BB managed to take the lead from us and we couldn’t recover but we kept it close and ended by only losing by 6 kills.
Game 2 - Neutral Bomb on Isolation: Final Score 2-3 (8BB Wins)

The game started out frantic, it went back and forth a lot but we managed again to keep the pressure on 8BB and lost by 1 point.

CE United got back on track in the 3rd game against 8BB. Both team fought vigorously from start to finish, which made the ending of the game a nail biter but CEU managed to narrow the gap from a 2-0 lead to 2-1 against 8BB.

Both clans fought hard in this frantic game of SWAT but 8BB managed to come away with the W.

We were at a Stand-Off with both teams having the other team’s flag, then at about the 13 minute mark things really got crazy and 8BB scored the first capture and after that it was over within 3 more minutes. But we managed to hold 8BB off for a long time.
In the end both teams played their best, but 8BB came out victorious in the Clan-tastic Royale. With a 3-1 the CT game was just for fun since they already won 3 games. So I would like to thank 8-Bit Brigade for joining us for the Clan-tastic Royale. We look forward to playing you guys again, a Clan-tastic Royale 2 comes to mind.

The Junkies had this map on lockdown, I remember I only saw 2 of their guys on our side of the map once, other then that it was a fun match and that is the whole purpose fun.

This was an interesting game type we thought it was just king of the hill, but turns out every time you kill someone you got a point added your king of the hill timer, slayer king it was a nice change of pace playing something different.

We picked Narrows slayer for the 3rd game most of the action happened at the rocket spawn it was a very frantic game.

This match brings me back to the Halo 2 days with LowBall on Turf, I never really cared for lowball but then again it was a good change of pace still very fun and frantic.

Another map and game type that brings you back to the good old days of LAN parties. There was a lot of vehicle action from what I saw or at least can remember.

Overall it was fun playing with the guys from H3 Junkies, they may have won 5-0 or 3-0 however you look at it but in the end the idea is to make sure everyone had fun and I know I had fun playing that night despite the lose.
It gave us an opportunity to get to know some new people that we had not played before and they were a great group of guys I would very much enjoy playing you guys again. Thanks Junkies.
Game Battles…
The other day July 6th to be accurate, CE United decided to dip our hands into www.GameBattles.com. GameBattles is an organized website for clans to challenge one another. You can literally find a match within 2 minutes most of the time! So we had a match at 2pm against a clan called TrueFire (http://gamebattles.com/xbox360/halo3/team/truefire)
We ended up losing, I decided to not take part in this clan match because I just go on Halo 3 that day and had not warmed up yet. In the future I think CE United will use Gamebattles again it seems like S4iNT and F0X have already used it a few times for double team.

Before I get to the screenshots for this week I just want to thank Bungie again for everything they have done for me and CE United. Without you Bungie I would not know anyone in CE United except my brother (Mooretamis) and our friend (LastDesertF0X) without Bungie, CE United would not even be here today. My best friend I became best friends because of playing Halo CE together at LAN parties. We went to elementary school together but never hung out before Halo CE. My brother and I met some really good friends at a Halo 2 tournament (who live about three hours away). We created a really cool clan with those friends as well… CE United. (AKA full name: Combat Evolved United). I love the short name more. My brother moved to Vegas and met his fiancé because of those friends we met at that Halo 2 tournament. Halo got me my senior prom date. One of the friends, we met at the Halo 2 tournament I was just in his wedding in January 08. Thanks for everything Bungie. I <3 U. Happy Bungie Day, VVilly
