Weekly Willy Update (WWU) for August 22, 2008
Greetings to the masses! I would like to welcome you to the Weekly Willy Update brought to you the letter W. The picture above was taken 3 summers ago at a Halo 2 tournament in Michigan. During that time, the members of CE United who lived far apart from one another got to know each other better at that tournament. Soon after, we became really good friends. I just thought I would throw in a little CE United history and this picture is a great example of our friendship.
Clan News, Info, and Events…
Clan news has been a little slow the past week, but yesterday and today the clan news (or at least I think its clan news) has been pouring in.
CE United sent a thank you letter to Bungie thanking them for all their hard work and dedication they put into the Halo series. Without Halo, like I said before in an early update, CE United would not be here and the lives of most of our members would be a whole lot different then how they are now.
As for Willy’s Wonderful Wacky LAN party, it got horribly canceled due to lack of interest by the masses. Most of the people invited to the LAN had things come up that they had to go to or other prior commitments. So maybe next summer I might have one but that is a long way off.
CE United vs. Outcast Reborn for a friendly clan get together, right now I am in talks with Outcast-Reborn to play some friendly games of Halo 3. It might be scheduled for the end of this month. I’ll keep everyone up to date.
CE United clan match videos will be available on our site soon. While I was browsing Outcast Reborn’s forum I came across a website that has been featured on Bungie’s main site. It is called GameVee and I am in the process of posting all of our clan match videos on there.
Finally, CE United is now listed on the Halowiki site under the Halo 3 clans page.
Gaming News…
New Resident Evil 5 trailer available
Fallout 3 comes out October 28
A new PSP is being released this fall, as well as a keyboard attachment for the PS3 controller.
Microsoft has a new controller color being released but this time it is going to be a limited edition GREEN!!! One special thing about this controller as well, it will have a newly designed D-pad on the controller. From the sounds of it, the D-pad will just be more sensitive or something along those lines.
Personally, I think the 360 D-pad works well. On a side note, all these colors reminds me of the N64 days where they had every color imaginable for the system as well as the controller.
Also, I don’t understand why they are waiting until now to release all this info. Microsoft could have told us this at E3. Maybe then it would have been a better E3 but I doubt it.
Willy’s Rant of the Week (WRotW)
Sadly, there will be no Rant this week mainly because I have nothing to rant about. That is probably a good thing because right now life is good. No work and no school (well for another week or so) means Willy can finally get some good old quality gaming in without interruptions. Side note, if you must see any other movie this summer besides Dark Knight go see Tropic Thunder. It is by far one of the best comedies I have seen since probably Superbad, I highly recommend Tropic Thunder. At first I didn’t want to see it, but I am sure glad I went to see it now. Not to mention, there are a lot of great surprise cameos in this movie.
